HOW REFOID WORKS

App Store refund responses, without your own server.

Refoid is a web service for iOS and macOS developers who sell in-app purchases or subscriptions through the App Store. It receives Apple’s refund-related notifications, sends your configured responses, and keeps the request, response, and final decision together.

Who is it for?

Independent developers and teams managing one app or a portfolio of apps. You manage them in one workspace instead of maintaining your own refund webhook and response queue. Refoid is not a consumer refund service, and it does not handle Google Play refunds.

What do I need to connect an app?

  • Access to the app in App Store Connect.
  • An App Store Server API key: Issuer ID, Key ID, and the downloaded .p8 private key.
  • App Store Server Notifications V2 configured with the webhook URL generated by Refoid, for Production, Sandbox, or both.

The workspace includes step-by-step setup instructions and connection checks. No Refoid SDK or server of your own is required. Review your existing notification configuration before replacing a webhook used by another service.

What happens when Apple sends a refund request?

  1. Refoid receives and verifies Apple’s notification, including CONSUMPTION_REQUEST, and matches the signed transaction.
  2. It queues an eligible response using your configured response preference and retries temporary failures within the response deadline.
  3. It records the response and subsequent refund outcome notifications from Apple in a timeline. You can enable emails for confirmed refund declines.

What does Refoid cost?

Plans have a subscription price, with no success fees or percentage of your revenue. Current monthly plans in USD:

  • Indie: $19/month. Up to 5 apps, 500 refund requests per month, and $3,000 in monthly refund value.
  • Growth: $39/month. Up to 20 apps, 2,500 refund requests per month, and $15,000 in monthly refund value.
  • Studio: $69/month. Unlimited apps, 10,000 refund requests per month, and no refund-value limit.

Refund-value allowances measure the purchase value of responses started, not recovered revenue. Retries do not count again. Limits reset each UTC calendar month; reaching a limit does not create automatic overage charges. See pricing for annual billing and plan details.

What are the limits?

Apple makes every final refund decision. A response accepted by Apple is not the same as a refund declined. Refoid cannot guarantee a decline rate or recover every refund. Processing depends on a verified connection, valid configuration, available plan allowance, and the response deadline.

Refoid is independent software and is not affiliated with Apple. You remain responsible for your response preferences and the information you submit.
